Restraints

We offer a range of seat belts (clip, velcro and retractable), body harnesses, and foot restraints.

Powered Swivel Seat

When you arrive at the top of the stairs you will need to swivel your seat around to exit onto the landing safely. If you choose the powered swivel option, the seat will automatically swivel when you reach the top of the stairs.

Powered Footplate

If you choose the powered footplate option, it will remove the need for you to bend down to fold or unfold the footplate.

Active Seat

This unique seat design helps users who would like some additional support to stand up when getting off the stairlift. It can also provide a greater sense of security when sitting down as the seat can be felt directly behind by the user. Springs are incorporated as part of the seat design and they vary depending on requirements.

Stairlift Basket

This wire coated basket can sit securely on the stairlift seat, and carry small items up or down the stairs when the stairlift is operated by remote control. This is ideal for households where there are two or more people (to allow for the unloading of the basket).

Perch Seat

Ideal for those with knee or hip flexion problems, the Perch seat alleviates the need to sit down each time a user needs to ride the stairlift. The Perch seat can also be a solution for narrow staircases where standard stairlift seats do not have the clearance or knees may collide with the opposite rail’s bannister. Shallower and higher than a traditional seated system, it allows the user to ride the stairlift without needing to attain a fully seated position – instead, the user will be in a nearly standing position, using the half seat for support.

Hinged Track

The hinged track is used to avoid leaving the stairlift at the bottom of the stairs, potentially in a walkway or doorway. The hinged track extends when the user goes downstairs, and folds up when the journey is finished. Manual and automatic hinged tracks are available, depending on the stairlift model selected.

Turn and Go

This feature is an ideal solution for narrow staircases. Instead of the user traveling with their back facing the wall or handrail (as is standard stairlift seat design), the Turn and Go feature automatically swivels the seat so that the user travels at an angle of 70° to the track; this uses less space across the staircase and can prevent knees touching the opposite banister or handrail. It is also a convenient option for tall riders, or for those who have difficulty bending their knees to fit within the available stair width.

Slide Track

This clever design is great for layouts where doorways or walkways are at the bottom or top of the staircase. A slide track is slightly shorter than the length of the staircase. When the stairlift starts to travel up the staircase, the track moves with it. The track will reach the top of the stairs before the stairlift, and it will stop while the stairlift continues its journey to the top, where the user can safely dismount. When the user comes downstairs the track will travel down with them so they can dismount safely at the bottom. The slide track works automatically when the toggle or remote control is activated.

Zero Intrusion Rail

This option is ideal where there may be a door directly across the top of the stairs, or there is a walkway that you would prefer to keep clear. The zero intrusion rail modifies the stairlift design slightly, so that the track is moved 200mm down the stairs (which avoids the normal track overrun at the top). The footplate of the stairlift can finish level with the top landing. The seat can then swivel and the user can step safely onto the landing.

Panda Seat

A seat designed specifically for a child (to approx. 9yrs of age), the Panda Seat can be installed on a Freecurve stairlift in place of the standard seat. The Panda seat is available in four sizes with a selection of head supports and seatbelts. The seat has no joystick but operates with ‘nurse control’, which is a hand transmitter control which a carer operates as they walk beside the stairlift. The seat swivels at the top and bottom of the stairs to increase safety when getting on and off the stairlift. The Panda seat can be replaced with an adult Freecurve seat as the user grows.

Using our specialist PhotoSurvey software we take measurements of your staircase, and then create an accurate 3D model of your staircase – this software ensures the stairlift track is designed to perfectly fit your space. We also advise of any adjustments required to fit your stairlift, for example, moving a heater, and which side of the staircase would best suit your stairlift.
